2010 Range Rover gets upgrades inside cabin and under hood

2010 Range Rover gets upgrades inside cabin and under hood

Over the years, Land Rover has slowly built up the Range Rover into a refined and trusted luxury vehicle. This year, the 2010 Range Rover will kick it up another notch, continuing its steady, sure climb to the highest plateau in its class with a pretty significant overhaul that is sure to have Land Rover aficionados tickled pink.

From the outside, the Range Rover appears to mimic its sleek, boxy predecessors; however, the trained eye will take note of new bright LED headlamps, tail lamps and side marker lights. The front bumper is reshaped and elegant and features a revised mesh grille. Something ambiguously lavish about the exterior is sure to draw drivers into their Madison Range Rover dealerships.   Continue Reading…

2010 Land Rover LR4

Wisconsin may not have any actual mountains to climb, but there are rocks and hills and an overabundance of ideal off-roading spots so when the new Land Rover LR4 boasts about its infamous “Rock Crawl” Terrain Response system option,  America’s Dairlyland capital can join in the excitement.  Regardless of the terrain, Land Rover introduces a vehicle that makes a trek over the Rockies feel like a nap in your backyard hammock.

At home in the mountains and out on the range

At home in the mountains and out on the range

Land Rover first introduced the upcoming 2010 LR4 on the eve of the New York Auto show and this decked-out LR3 upgrade offers a ton of very practical, innovative, and as the kids are saying these days, very ‘fresh’ features.  Technically speaking, it packs a refined direct-injected 5.0-liter V8 sourced from Jaguar putting 375 hp and 375 lb-ft of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission.  This Madison new car delivers 25% more power and 19% more torque than the previous 4.4 liter engine. Jaguar XF Named Best Executive Car

Many cars are labeled  ‘luxury vehicles’, but few ever achieve the balanced fusion of  refinement, elegance and usability.  Not to brag, but the Madison Jaguar XF at our Madison dealer found this ultimate sweet spot and has two consecutive “Best Executive Car” awards to prove it.  Every year, Autotropolis issues a list of the top executive cars and in 2009, this Jag remains comfortably atop this well-deserved pedestal.

The Ultimate Executive Suite

The Ultimate Executive Suite

Why exactly is this award so distinguished?  It’s all in the name.  The word executive implies someone who controls, manages, and leads an organization.  An executive is a decision maker who has climbed the corporate hierarchy and faced-down challenges.  Thus, Autotropolis’s award is meant to honor vehicles that accurately reflect the accomplishments of a executive who also encompasses a contemporary ‘posh refinement’. Volvo C30 Excels in Crash Tests

Volvo C30 Excels in Crash Tests

As demonstrated through new crash test results recently recorded by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the worldwide leader in making safe autos just keeps getting better at making cars built with the passengers’ well being in mind. Now, the Volvo C30, like every other Volvo on the road, has scored incredibly high marks for safety.

Focusing its tests, historically, on vehicles that are for family use, the Insurance Institute usually tests four-door models. Given the recent improvements in safety of two-door models, the IIHS decided to add a handful of two-doors to its testing. And, surprise, it was a Volvo that led the way. Continue Reading…

Land Rover LRX will turn heads

Land Rover LRX will turn heads

The Land Rover LRX should be on its way to our Madison new cars lineup … eventually. Several months back the UK granted Land Rover $37.2 million to help for the capital needed to begin production on the LRX by the final quarter of 2009. That makes us believe that the LRX will be turning heads on UK streets in 2010, but from what we can tell, the LRX will take another full year to reach the States.

Expect it to arrive stateside though. This vehicle is far too exciting to live exclusively across the pond. The LRX seems to take the Land Rover design into the future in a big way. There is no mistaking the sleek, compact design for anything but the ultimate off-roading four-wheel drive. However, the LRX is certainly a design and model that will transform the shape of the brand. Continue Reading…
