There is currently a lot going on right now at Jaguar.  The 2010 Jaguar XF is an exciting car and there are even details out about the 2011 Jaguar XF Diesel S model.  Let’s take a look at what they have to offer.

Of all the Madison new cars you could choose from, the 2010 XF is one of the most powerful.  The XF comes with the choice of a powerful V8, or a supercharged V8.  With many sedans in this class, the V8 is an upgrade, but Jaguar has gotten rid of the V6 and upped the ante to a V8 across the board.  How’s that for power?!?!

Some other attributes that make this car great are the excellent braking and handling that the XF offers.  This is somewhat surprising to some, since it’s a larger car.  Not having to put all your force on the brakes keeps you from having to visit your Madison WI mechanic as often- not a bad thing at all!

The Jaguar comes with  fantastic interior features.  You’ll notice that the seats, gauges, and dashboard are made with quality materials.  There is wood trim finishing on parts of the interior, as well as nice metal touches near the knobs and gauges.  The lighting used for those gauges is a shade of blue that looks very modern.  These Madison new cars also have a great sound system and plenty of cargo room in the trunk!

Since we are in calendar year 2010, there is more information coming out about 2011 car models.  Jaguar is making the Diesel S a very cool model, where buyers will have the option of the Dynamics Pack or the Aerodynamic Pack. The Dynamics Pack will adjust suspension automatically, which will help a driver keep maximum handling.  The Aerodynamics Pack is more of a sport package, adding outside features that make it look sportier and help with the car’s aerodynamics.

The diesel based model will be more an entry level model and picks up quite a bit of styling from the XFR.  The base diesel engine will be a 3.0 Liter engine.  It’s something to consider if you like diesel models.  Most petrol cars are more popular overseas in Europe, but we may see them here at our Madison WI mechanic??

The outfit responsible for customizing Range Rovers, Overfinch, is teaming up with Holland and Holland, a rifle and shotgun company in Britain.  They are going to make this SUV one fascinating ride!

Characteristics both inside and outside the vehicle will be very noticeable!  The new Range Rover will come with tires that are all season and great in mud and snow.  There will be treatments coming special from Overfinch, such as upgrades on headlamp, tail light , and bumper. Cool features that the staff will notice when you come in for your Madison oil change.

The interior trim and seating is elegant and luxurious.  High-quality leather, with contrasting stitching is used all over the vehicle.  You’ll find it on doors, seating, upper and lower dashboard, even in the cubby box.

Another amenity Land Rover can brag out is the “cupboard” that has 3 drawers.  Like some antique wood-crafted cupboards, the LR’s has hand crafted veneers that mimic the woodwork used in other areas of the SUV.  These drawers do not come empty, however.  In them, a buyer can find “Holland & Holland crystal tumblers and flutes, shotguns, a cleaning kit for them as well as cartridges and the bag in which to carry them”.  Very cool if you’re a gun/hunting enthusiast

I saved perhaps the best feature for last….The Rand Rover (maybe making to your Madison dealer?), comes with a “bar” and alcohol. J.D. Power and Associates Sales Satisfaction Index takes into account five factors when determining index scores: the dealership facility, salesperson, the paperwork process, delivery process, and the vehicle’s price. A census of 48,000 new-vehicle buyers was considered during the 2009 survey analyzing those either purchasing or leasing.

Concluded in the study was that twenty percent of customers who left a dealership without purchasing a car did so in response to poor customer treatment. As money continues to be a significant factor for buyers, having a positive salesperson client relation could make all the difference. Americans are looking for an excuse not to spend money and having a unsettling interaction with a dealer could leave both parties empty handed.

Jay-Z is a trend setter, everything this hip-hop mogul touches turns to gold. Jay-Z wears a Yankee fitted hat and the rest of America follow suit. Jay-Z promotes the movie American Gangster and millions go to see it, so when I heard that Jay-Z was partnering up with Jaguar to promote the new 2011 XJ model, I had to give kudos to Mike O’Driscoll, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars for encouraging this promotion.

As part of the agreement between Jay-Z and Jaguar the rapper has featured the 2011 XJ model in his newest music video “On To The Next One” and throughout the year Jay-Z has planned to make several public appearances alongside the vehicle.

This would not be the first time celebrities have teamed up with the auto industry, rapper Common partnered with the Lincoln Navigator in 2008 and more recently Queen Latifah has become an integral part of the Ford Mustangs marketing campaign. Throughout Latifah’s new video, “Fast Car” featuring Missy Eliot, the Mustang monopolizes screen time clearly establishing itself as the center of attention. Likewise when watching Jay-Z’s “On To The Next One” I have a hard time deciphering whether the video is an extended car commercial or an actual music video.

This sudden increase in the auto industries promotion budgets serves as a comforting sign, alluding to the fact that the economic recession is slowly recovering. Out of all of the Madison new cars being featured this upcoming spring I wouldn’t be surprised if the Jay-Z approved XJ Jaguar had the most lot movement. Jay-Z is tremendous influence in America among all ages, his entrepreneurship is admired by the business world, whereas his hip-hop skills have the younger generations wrapped around his fingers.

The 2011 XJ has been hailed by critics to have an aesthetically pleasing interior, including a massive glass sunroof offering a panorama of the sky, and improvements on the exterior including the large body and swooping taillights, nicknamed ‘cat’s claws’. It’s reported that this vehicle will follow many of the same guidelines  as the S 60 concept car, which was introduced in early 2009.  It will most likely have the same 5- and 6-cylinder gasoline engines that are found in the inventories of used cars Madison car buyers currently see.   Down the road, a 4-cylinder, fuel injected option and hybrid car will join the S60 lineup.

Also, Volvo is moving to make the S60 more slender.  The A and C pillars will be skinnier, resulting in more visibility.  In the past few years, many automakers have made these pillars a lot thicker for styling and structure needs.   At this time, Volvo has not released, or made a decision on what kind of material will be used.  I will be anxious to check this out when the 2011 model is on display at my Madison dealer.
